“If you let yourself stop learning, then you must not be expecting to go anywhere new.”  —Tory McAlister.

Tory and his wife, Michelle, are co-founders of Really Good Wood Co—a custom furniture and hardwoods company in Chicago, Illinois. He is an Engineering Project Manager and also a coach for a top youth track team in the Chicagoland area.

Whether reading books and articles, watching how-to videos on YouTube, or trying new techniques, approaches, and theories in the office and woodshop, Tory truly believes that there is always something to be learned to enhance the way you think and how you do things. Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, his commitment and excitement to teach himself something new resulted in the establishment of his family business.

Tory is committed to encouraging others to expand their knowledge—keep an open mind, stay teachable, and look for opportunities and even sometimes adventures that bring fresh insights and new perspectives.

What makes Tory McAlister Bold & Gritty is his insatiable appetite for learning and a mind that always welcomes more.
